We're going to Athens, Georgia for 2 or 3 nights in mid February. Do you have recommendations for restaurants and attractions in and around Athens? We will have a car, and have one night away from Athens as well. Where would be a good place within a couple of hours drive for one night? We've been to Atlanta, but could of course go back. Is an overnight to Augusta worthwhile? Or Macon? Mrs. Fnorde and I are adventurous eaters and like history, art, birds, geology, quirky museums, and landscapes.

I'm planning to take my kid, who will be 6.5, to visit extended family in the Atlanta suburbs. During the trip I'd like to stay in a hotel or airbnb for a few nights to mix things up a little. What is a fun/cute/pleasant neighborhood for families? What are the best sights for kids? She likes especially likes nature, art, science and music. I'd also love to incorporate African-American history and culture. Anything we don't get to this year, we could consider for future visits.

Myself and a friend, females around 50, are planning to travel to Savannah for a show at District Live at Plant Riverside District. Do you have any recommendations for a place to stay, probably within walking distance? I love a place with an excellent bathtub, under $250/night. Happily accepting suggestions of places to eat, places to sip, and things to do, as well, in early April. Thanks!

When you fly international into ATL, you have to wait outside for a shuttle bus (might be 10 min wait, might be >30min wait like it was for me today). Once on the un-air-conditioned bus, you drive about 15 minutes to the rental car center. It's rough. Who came up with this set-up? Was there a better plan (easier, faster etc) that was just not feasible? [more inside]

I will be in Atlanta next Thursday for the day. Driving down from NC. My question is, should I pick a MARTA park & ride station on the outskirts or drive all the way in to the convention center? I'll be arriving early afternoon & leaving around 9pm. Last time I was there I flew in & took MARTA train to the GWCC in 2010.

Are there any playgrounds or other kid-friendly spaces in the Atlanta airport? The directory and website have nothing, and while travel sites claim there are kid-friendly areas they are hopelessly vague. I would include more detail but I'm dictating this with my phone in one hand while I carry an ornery toddler in the other!

We will be driving from Chicago to Daytona this weekend to spend spring break with my parents. Last year, we traveled the same route, setting out on Good Friday (along with a glut of other Midwesterners) and found terrible traffic jams due to construction on I-24 in Chattanooga (mid-day) and on I-75 in Atlanta (at rush hour, duh).
