Current Construction around Atlanta?

We will be driving from Chicago to Daytona this weekend to spend spring break with my parents. Last year, we traveled the same route, setting out on Good Friday (along with a glut of other Midwesterners) and found terrible traffic jams due to construction on I-24 in Chattanooga (mid-day) and on I-75 in Atlanta (at rush hour, duh). Are these routes still under construction?

Our travel times have changed this year and we should be heading through Atlanta at 9am on Saturday morning. Bonus points for apps that might help me en route. I used iPhone maps last year and just downloaded Waze.

Best answer: If I'm reading the Georgia Department of Transporation's live traffic website correctly, it looks like all the I-75 construction in Atlanta is in the Northbound lanes this weekend. They also have apps for iOS and Android.

Best answer: Here's is TN's traffic/road website. You can add features like construction using the drop down menu.

Best answer: 9am on a Saturday you should be fine coming through Atlanta unless something has gone Terribly Wrong. There is still significant construction at 75S & 285 but I'm in that area at ~9am almost every week and it's not bad. Waze is your best bet in terms of being routed around traffic jams.

Best answer: I-75 in Cobb County is an epic, spectacular mess due to the construction of the new Braves stadium and the resulting new ramps, express bypass, bridges, etc. It's massive, and the traffic is horrible, and ain't gonna get any better any time soon.

But on a weekend morning? It should be fine. I checked the Braves schedule, and they only have early games (~1pm start) on Sundays, so that won't mess you up either.
