Cityboy and I will be in Savannah, Georgia from Friday to Monday for a Sunday wedding, but booked the long weekend as a getaway. We're in a VRBO carriage house in the Historic District on East Jones St, and need HiveMind help. We will not have a car, and will be cabbing or shuttling from the airport - suggestions on airport-to-town travel also appreciated. What local specialty food should we make sure to seek out? I'm guessing BBQ, but what else is wonderful in Savannah? What should we definitely do? Museums? Galleries? Theatre? Shops? If you are familiar with Savannah please recommend your favorite places. Favorite restaurants, especially within the area around the historic district are especially welcome. Thank you!

My lady and I were planning to go somewhere less cold than NYC for New Years eve. We were thinking, like, Florida. But now my friend is getting married in Athens GA 4 days into the new year. I'm in Atlanta for two and a half days for some training. I do not have a car, and I'm about a mile away from both the Buckhead and Lindbergh MARTA stations. I have the evening free after 5 PM today and tomorrow night. What are some good vegetarian-friendly dining options nearby or easily/safely accessible via public transit where a lone casually-dressed traveler wouldn't feel too weird? Is there a nice walkable neighborhood somewhere where I could wander alone, or go for a run? Any other good ideas for entertaining myself in the evening today and tomorrow?

I'm the Fun Czar for a group of software developers, some of whom are in the Atlanta, GA area. I know nothing about Atlanta or fun stuff to do there. Help! I'm especially interested in activities that will be fun and engaging for a group of approximately 20 people, mostly geeks in their 20s and 30s. I'm interested in both little things (bowling and beer?) that can be done in a couple of hours, and bigger things (sporting events? amusement parks? boat rides?) that would take a full afternoon or all day.

I'm heading to a conference in Athens in the spring and need to get from the airport in Atlanta over to Athens. There are a bunch of services listed on the airport website for regional shuttle service. I'm not picky -- I almost always use a basic shuttle service to get from the airport to a hotel in town, but I've never had as far to travel before. What's your preferred company?
