Food and relaxation recs for very short trip to Miami

I'll be in Miami from March 2-5 for a work event. I'll have Saturday and Sunday to myself before the event starts. I'm not of a mind to try and cram in a proper tourist overview of the city in such a short span. Instead, I'd like to slow down and relax. Seeking recs for nice places to do... nothing... to eat and enjoy a view. [more inside]

24 hours in Miami in the time of Omicron

I unexpectedly have 24 free hours in Miami on Monday. I'm boosted and have N95s but am still relatively risk averse when it comes to spending time in enclosed space with people who aren't wearing masks. What might be a good set of activities to consider? I will be by myself and not have a car. [more inside]

Miami spots for the most quiet/peaceful solo swimming?

Miami area swimming beaches/shores that are 1) very peaceful isolated vibe, not party vibe and 2) walkable from some lodging that's not luxe priced? Especially in lowish-season winter, such as early or mid Jan? (I see Miami's lowest sea temps are around 70F, which is fine; I'm used to wild swimming down to 58F or so, and I welcome but don't need a lifeguard.)

Family-friendly hotel/resort in Miami

Our family (two parents, one nearly-2-year-old) wants to plan a relaxing week-long Miami vacation in late January or early February. We're looking for recommendations of low-key baby-friendly hotels or resorts to stay at, where we can have a decent trip just hanging near the hotel with our kid. [more inside]

Roughly 24 hours in Miami (or South Beach?) - Help me decide?

We will be taking a cruise that departs from the port of Miami in the spring, to celebrate a big wedding anniversary. The cruise line recommends two hotels, a Marriott in South Beach or the Four Seasons downtown, for pre/post cruise stays. We'll be flying in the day before the cruise (early morning) and will have roughly 24 hours in town before we board the ship. I see us having two paths - which would you recommend? [more inside]

Miami - where to stay and how to get around?

Group of four friends going to Miami for just 3 days and 2 nights. 1. What is the best location to stay - and for a reasonable price? i.e. Coral Way, Miami Beach, Midtown. 2. Also considering to rent a car and split between the four of us. What is the best way to get around? Will there be a lot of traffic and parking issues? 3. What is public transportation like? i.e. metro or buses? Thanks in advance! [more inside]

Miami for these nerdy brooklynites!

My husband and I want to go on vacation this spring. We're thinking Miami! We'll spend about a week, probably in mid-march. We'd love your opinion on all things miami. Where to go, where to stay, and are we going to be able to do this when we don't drive a lick? We've never been to south florida. What should we do?! [more inside]
