Gruesome Las Vegas

If I were to travel to Las Vegas, what would be its most gruesome aspects today? What is the most disgusting casino? What is the ickiest dinner buffet? What is the most depressing public space? What is the worst hotel? What is your secret awful spot in Las Vegas? This masochist mind wants to know. Tell me your nastiest Las Vegas stories!

Where to eat in Las Vegas, 2024 edition

Happy new year, Mefites! Here's a fun q for the holiday: I'm traveling to Vegas with a small group in February. We need one, like, mid-level restaurant and one special restaurant (ideally a bit splashy and dressy, but chiefly: incredible food). What are your picks? [more inside]

Vegas me like I am an alien

I will be visiting for 3 nights in September to go to a concert over the weekend. Where can I stay? What is the deal? I have gathered a little from previous asks, but feel very "born yesterday". [more inside]

Vegas at Thanksgiving

I need a room in Vegas on the Saturday night each side of Thanksgiving, as we come and go through town on a weeklong camping trip. Everything I've read online suggests rooms should be cheap, as it's not a convention week. Rooms are not cheap. Do I just need to wait and worry about a room closer to the trip, trusting that rates will fall? Or do I need to add about $500 to the trip budget for 2 nights in Vegas?

Las Vegas for a nerd

I’m going to Vegas for the first time this fall! I’m a solo 40ish lady and not planning to have a car. I’d like advice on inexpensive places to stay (hostels are on the table), eat, other things to do, and what to pack/wear. I’m in a bit of a rut since 2020 and want to see new things for a bit. My only must-do right now is the Meow Wolf Omega Mart. [more inside]

Any old school one-armed bandits in Las Vegas?

VegasFilter: Is there a retro-casino which has working, mechanical slot machines? Their contemporary video/LED incarnations are bewildering and off-putting.

Vegas, baby

My recently adult kid has informed me she wants to go to Las Vegas. Why not? Feeling vaxed and ready for new experiences. We're a queer, quirky, nerdy family with no interest in gambling and a high capacity for kitch. What should we do in Vegas over, say, a 4 day weekend? [more inside]

Spas in Las Vegas

Somewhat improbably, I am going to Las Vegas for a work trip. Since I'm not really a gambler, I'd like to find a great spa where I can spend a day and experience another aspect of the OTT vibe. There are several dozen spas there, and I'm having trouble distinguishing them. Can anyone recommend a spa that offers a day pass (with treatment OK) and has a lot of good spaces to hang out in - pools, saunas, relaxation rooms, etc? Thanks!

Buffet Recommendations in Las Vegas

Are there any Vegas buffets that will have no wait? This is for a weekday (breakfast, lunch or dinner). We want whatever the best options are that won’t have a wait. Thanks!

How to find a hotel in Las Vegas with a freezer?

Vegas hotel

We are going to Vegas to see a particular concert over the weekend. We might do some slots but don't plan on gambling much. We will go out to eat. We might go dancing. We will likely tack on some other shows. I don't enjoy Vegas-y drunken crowds. Where should we stay?

Solo day in or around Las Vegas

I'm going to be in Las Vegas for a week in October. The first three days will be climbing at Red Rock Canyon, the last three days will be a conference. The middle day I'll be by myself and I'm trying to decide what to do! Not as interested in the typical Vegas strip type stuff, and also willing to do a longer day trip... [more inside]
