Where to spend ~2h in Boston Logan Airport?

I’m travelling soon and will be arriving at Boston Logan Airport (terminal B) in the afternoon and will have about two hours before meeting a friend there (also arriving in terminal B). Where can I just hang out and chill with my laptop? Should I leave the terminal for another one? I also don’t want to leave the airport to go into the city as I have transportation lined up once my friend arrives. [more inside]

When does Alewife parking fill up these days?

Hey Boston-area folks, I'm coming from Western MA to Mass Eye and Ear in Boston for a 9:40AM appointment on Tuesday, and I'm deciding whether to park at Alewife or drive the whole way in. I'd much rather avoid driving into Boston, but how early would I have to get to Alewife these days to be sure of getting a spot? I'm open to other alternatives, too. [more inside]

Salem, Massachusetts post-Halloween--what to see?

I'm visiting Salem, MA in mid-November. What's it like after the October madness has passed? Looking for activities that are historic, melancholy and witchy, plus at least one good meal, maybe Sunday brunch for two people. [more inside]

Resturants that deliver to the Boston Logan Hilton

We are staying two nights at the Boston Logan Hilton Hotel (the one attached to the airport), one on each end of a long trip. Can you recommend any places that will deliver dinner to us at the hotel (lobby or out front is fine)? Kid-friendly a must, something like decent pizza would be fine. [more inside]

extensive outdoor bulb gardens in Western Mass?

I'm looking for large outdoor (i.e. not greenhouse, I already did those this season) gardens that have nice (ideally *extensive*) spring bulb displays (daffodils, tulips, irises, etc) and flowering trees (magnolia, cherry) in Western Mass. I'm near Amherst/Northampton but willing to drive a bit for someplace nice. In PA I really liked Chanticleer, something similar would be great.

Please help find a hotel with great bathtub in Boston area

I would like to find a hotel in the greater Boston area that has a wonderful bathtub. It would be great if the other aspects of the hotel are on par with the tub, but the tub experience is the focus. Adequate depth and decent width/length are the main factors - bubbles and other features are nice, but not critical. I'm having trouble coming up with a search query that returns relevant results, and I'm ready to throw in the towel. [more inside]

birthday dinner in Seaport?

hello! My birthday is this Friday and my family wants to celebrate together tomorrow evening. We’re planning on going to Seaport because my parents love the waterfront. We are ovo-lacto-vegetarian, and I’ve been struggling to find birthday-worthy restaurants (ie not sweetgreen) that have more than one app and entree option. [more inside]

Best times to drive to Cape Cod on a summer Saturday?

We’re driving to Cape Cod from the west (via the Pike), on a Saturday, in August. What time windows should we aim for to not hit the worst traffic? And do we want to aim for the Bourne bridge and 495, or the Sagamore and 93 to 3? [more inside]

Boston today

I'm staying in Waltham through Monday helping out with a family situation, and I'm trying to do one or two things a day that are renewing and soothing for me. Stuff I like: Being outdoors/nature, art galleries* and art performances, vegetarian food, neighborhood 'ethnic' restaurants, cafes I can sit and draw for a while and eat some kind of hippy food, special magical places. I have a car and I've been to Boston a number of times so have a basic understanding of the city and the central tourist spots - but that would not be my focus this time. [more inside]

What is the best indoor pool (at a hotel) for a kid in the Boston area?

What is the best indoor pool at a hotel near Boston for a 5 year-old? The hotel doesn't need to be fancy. A Hampton Inn would feel luxurious. There are only two features we care about: Great pool for a kid to chill and easy commute into Boston for touristy activities. [more inside]

We're headed up to Great Barrington, MA in the Berkshires this weekend and would love any and all ideas on things to do/see, shops to check out, places to eat, etc. Special Halloween events particularly welcome. Couple in early/mid-40s, no kids, but open to anything. Thank you!

Kid-friendly beaches in Cape Cod

We will be on Cape Cod in Sandwich, MA with 3yo and 4yo kids for a low-key week of going to the beach and (cautious, socially distanced) exploring the cape. My understanding is that cape-side beaches are better for kids due to smaller waves and more tidal pools to explore. Any recommendations for specific beaches and/or other activities that are reasonably kid friendly and less likely to be super crowded? We will be there Monday-Friday so hopefully mid-week crowds will be more reasonable.

Western MA – outdoor swimming season

In western Mass, in an average big lake (I care most about this lake, SW of Greenfield), what range of the year is swimmable without a wetsuit? I'm happy swimming when both air and water temps are at least 60F/15C (and if air and water temps are often different in MA, let's say my standard is a water temp of 60 or above).

Boston Suggestions

I will be traveling to Boston soon, and am looking for some more out of the way things to see. In previous trips, I've mostly been to Camberville things, so I'm looking for things in Boston or other areas to look at. No day trips though, I'll only have a day or two to explore wherever and then will be in Cambridge area for the rest of the time. [more inside]
