Fun brunch in nyc?

I'm taking my friend to brunch for her bday this weekend and am looking for a restaurant in NYC with more than just food and drinks!

My friend's birthday is this weekend and we'd like to take her out for brunch. We're hoping to find a place that has a little something going on - music, a show, etc so it's most special than just us sitting there eating brunch like we could do any weekend. We'd like to stick to midtown/downtown Manhattan since two of us are arriving via Penn Station and its already a long trip to get to that point.

Gallow Green on the roof of the McKitttrick Hotel has this Champagne brunch with live music and tarot reading that wouldve been PERFECT but alas, they only do that during the warm months. So...something like that. Help!

Lucky Cheng's ? They have a Roaring Twenties themed brunch show at the moment. It's a 10-15 min walk from Penn Station, depending on how fast or slow you are walking.

At the Stardust Diner, a lot of the waitstaff are aspiring Broadway actors, and they sing. They don't take reservations, though, if that's an issue.

Check out 1803 NYC in Tribeca. Creole/Cajun food, fun atmosphere with a Jazz and/or drag brunch on weekends. It's right next to the Chambers stop (take the 2/3 downtown from Penn). Roxy hotel also has live music brunch on weekends.

How about a drag brunch? Here's a list.

Red Rooster does a "gospel brunch" that's supposed to be pretty cool and fun. Uptown rather than downtown, but probably about the same travel time from Penn if you were to go somewhere in say the LES.
