What's your favorite off the beaten track place in Spain?

Traveling to Spain in mid/late April 2020 for ~ten days. Plan is to fly into Barcelona and out of Madrid as it's surprisingly cheaper than the reverse and less dead time than circling back. Assume we're familiar with and planning on the main sights. What else shouldn't we miss? [more inside]

Neighborhood to stay in Valencia Spain

What part of the Valencia Spain would be good for us to rent an apartment for a week? Family of 4, 2 adults 2 teenage daughters. We like to be able to walk to markets, restaurants, etc. and enjoy the vibe of the city. We want to have a place with the ability to cook some of our own meals, do laundry, etc. This is probably something we'll book with airbnb, but if there are other options I'd be interested.

Brainstorming a long weekend in Spain

I live in Barcelona, and I'd like to travel for around 5 days over the Easter weekend, so I'm looking for ideas/tips. I'm considering going to Ronda, and would like input on different possibilities for how to spend my time around there; I'm also very open to alternative suggestions. [more inside]

Help me think about thinking about getting a house in Spain 1 location

Mr LB gets SAD. A recent holiday in the sun very much perked him up, so his wondering about getting a place to spend time at in winter seems to be something we need to look at. Don't worry about impending Brexit as this is a longer-term project so we can wait and see what happens. Must-haves and hopes below. Where do you suggest having a look at in Spain? [more inside]

Where can I get my hair cut in Barcelona?

Taking my first trip to Spain on Sunday and would like to get my short hair trimmed and/or styled during my brief holiday in Barcelona. Cis gal seeking cheap do (unless you know about a queer-friendly place that could make me look fabulous despite having almost nothing to work with). TBH I do not identify as queer yet but I would be delighted to look queer (I'm bi).

Well, I've never been to Spain...

Hi folks, heading out to Seville and the Cadiz areas of Spain in the next few weeks. First help me not dress like a doofus. Hints and tips on what folk are wearing so when I go my outfits don't scream "Merica!!" I'm normally an athletic skort and river shoe(Keens) wearer. Second, lists of places to see and places for yummy food are very welcome. [more inside]

Help make our trip to Europe amazing, Toledo, Spain edition

Our family will be spending two nights in Toledo, Spain in July. We're traveling with kids (10 & 12), so our plan is for a mostly low-key trip filled with lazily exploring the city. But we're also looking for other unique or special experiences we could do as a family that would really make our trip special. [more inside]

Advice or recommendations for the Canary Islands?

I will be going on an artist residency in Agüimes, Gran Canaria for five weeks from June through early July. Any recommendations? My artwork is about ecologies and I am very interested in plants, animals, sanctuaries, botanical gardens, etc. I bought an underwater camera and want to do some artwork on the islands' marine biodiversity. I am also vegetarian, and like to do some tourism as well as work and exhibit. [more inside]

visual impairment - international travel - BCN

My friend has a visual impairment and will traveling to BCN solo on Delta. Is there a good procedure to follow to get off the plane, get forms filled out, get through passport control and customs, and make her way to the Uber line (and the reverse on the way home), ideally with the minimum of disruption or fuss? Suggestions from the very general to the very specific happily accepted. Thank you!

Southern Spain in January

Thanks to your input, Ireland is out, and although Italy was a close contender (when you ask a Florentine where to go for vacation, you should not be surprised at the answer, nor the fact that they know of a great agroturismo to recommend) we have opted for Southern Spain. So, questions for the more Spain-experienced among you... [more inside]
