My parents (early 70s) are celebrating their 50th (!) wedding anniversary mid February and are taking us (myself, my brother and SIL (40s) and their daughters, 13 and 15) to Berlin for the week. Will be back in Berlin later this month for 4 nights. Was there in 2020 for a super short visit. Y'all gave me some good advice last time; got any new advice? What should I eat, where should I go? Am a fan of food, thrift shops, flea markets, farmers markets, film, queer-friendly spaces, and good sex toy shops. Please note: I do not drink alcohol. Am not a vegan but am vegan friendly.

On Saturday I’ll fly from Berlin to Australia with a large suitcase - I need somewhere to store it between approx 9 am and 7pm. I can’t store it at my accommodation and don’t have any friends who can help in Berlin. Do you know of luggage lockers or a luggage storage service in Berlin? I'll be arriving in Berlin in the evening (earliest I'll be out of the airport is 9pm), with an early early morning flight the next day. Do I just get a hotel close to the airport and sleep? This week I'll be flying through Berlin, arriving at Tegel and departing from Schonefeld. I get in just before 10am and fly out at 6pm. I'll be somewhat mobile but will be carrying enough that, eg, walking several miles through an architecturally interesting neighborhood, for example, which I would normally love, would be a no-go. Looking mostly for recommendations for where to get some good food and kill time pleasantly. [more inside]
