I have been asked to get someone’s personal belongings (no furniture, just miscellaneous personal belongings) from their apartment in NYC to China (city unknown yet, I am finding out). The added twist here is that I need a company who will also PACK the belongings into boxes or crates for me. [more inside]

My son went to a city just outside of Wuhan China a couple of weeks ago to attend a wedding. He has since been trapped in an apartment there by the caronavirus and resulting Chinese transportation lockdown. He has a seat to leave on a US State Department sponsored flight leaving Monday, but as of now (Sunday afternoon in China) he can't get to the airport that's only an hour's drive away. [more inside]

I'm an American attending a conference in Xiamen soon. I've tacked 4 days onto the trip after the 4-day conference concludes for vacation / sightseeing. I've never been to China before. This August I will find myself with 24 hours in Beijing. I will go to the Great Wall on a hiking trip the days after that. Any must-see do-not-miss sights? What food would you not want to miss? I tend to like food and culture and neighborhoods where I can freely wander and take pictures.
