Does anyone know a simple way to achieve the Aqua look using CorelDRAW 12?

Best answer: I don't know if it's going to be any easier in 12, but the fundamental component of Aqua is that it's 3-D, curvy, and transparent.

Historically, getting *any* of those in Corel has been a cast-iron bitch; look at some of the sample art they supply which fits that description, and then take it apart to see how they built it.

Ive never used CorelDraw so I have no idea what tools it has. Aqua looks are faily easy to do in general, a solid layer, 1 or more white to transparent gradients and usually a shaded outline. Heres a tutorial in photoshop maybe it will translate.

Searching Google for "illustrator" and "aqua" will yield some tips and tutorials for Adobe Illustrator that might be a little more translatable to CorelDraw than a tutorial for Photoshop.

Or you could just cheat and use Aquatint on your finished line art.

Response by poster: Thanks, fellows!

The easiest way I was able to find is to align a white ellipse with the top of the globe and set transparency as a gradient for the ellipse, with the transparency strongest on the bottom. Add shadow.

This obviously doesn't account for the "inner glow" look.
