Recommend some online movement classes

I'm interested in hearing about online movement classes which are:
  • accessible for beginners
  • skill based, rather than workout-based. It's ok if it includes a conditioning component, but that shouldn't be the main focus
  • not too expensive
It would be great if they were off the beaten path too, adding variety to one's movement diet. I realize that this is akin to saying, Surprise me!, but well, what's out there?

I often suggest Justin Augustin as his courses are for true beginners and there are versions starting with seated as well as versions for people with actual mobility.

Another vote for gmb.io. I have horrible flexibility, and after a couple of years of doing their programs very badly and pretty erratically, it’s quite noticeably better. I would find them intimidating if I thought I had to do any of the movements well, but I’ve gotten a lot of benefit out of them doing them badly.

Gaga, not the singer, Ohad Naharin the dancer/choreographer of the Batsheva Dance Company developed his own technique called "gaga". It's amazing. It's groovy! And the Gaga People classes are explicitly for anyone.

A friend of mine really likes the body-inclusive movements by @reynisima on Instagram.

I took a Gaga dance training back in a former life and it was SO FUN, highly recommend!

There is also the wealth of adult ballet classes on youtube, which may or may not be off your beaten path but for me are a total lark.

And then there are so, so many skills to train, yeah. For example, you can spend A LOT of time learning how to press up into a handstand . Other movement skills I have worked to cultivate by watching a lot of youtube videos: plyometric pushups, full pistol squats.

Or do you mean, like, you could take an online drumming class and being sweaty would be an ancillary benefit?

I like Yoga With Adriene on YouTube, with the caveat that I personally have gotten more out of her targeted videos ("yoga for lower back pain", "yoga for shoulders") vs. her more workout-y ones, like her 30-day programs, so you may have to poke around her channel a bit to find the videos that work for you. She definitely has beginner-friendly stuff, and it's on YouTube so it's totally free.
