New slippies, please!

Help me find some summer slippers! Looking for: natural fibers (cotton or wool), open-toed, nothing that looks like it's made from a muppet or my dog will never put them down.
I'm kind of over Acorn because I find I have to trade sweaty for warmth, Dearfoam has some light ballet slippers made of terry cloth but they're closed toe, I couldn't find anything at LL Bean that wasn't bulky. I'd like to find more feminine than matronly or little-girly, if that makes any sense.
The open toe thing is because I run and since I started keeping my toenails clean and dry they're a lot happier so that's another reason I'm avoiding the polyester/fleece terrarium type slippers.
Oh and rubber soles, so I could walk outside.

Can't go wrong with Birks. I have two pairs and they're all I wear in the summer. I love that they come in a narrow width too.

Or just plain flip flops? I use my havianas slims around the house, and after losing a pair in Orlando I bought two more at Marshalls (try them on there, because the only ones I see at discount stores have the sizes mis labeled).

Also, I want to point out that I belong to the sisterhood of perpetually cold feet, and thought wearing flip flops in the house was bonkers.
Until I tried it.
If I'm on the couch I stick my feet under a blanket, but when I'm active in the house, just having my soles off the tile makes me forget i'm dragging a pair of size 9 ice blocks around.

http://www.patagonia.com/us/product/patagonia-footwear-womens-fly-away-flip-flop?p=79574-0-767 -- and the color is Llama Brown!
I have a pair of these from last year and they held up very well.

If you live somewhere with big Asian grocery stores, or those Japanese dollar stores, you might be able to find tatami house slippers like these or zori like these.
I wish I had some myself right now! I live in a hot climate and wear flip flops most of the year in the house and the yard. They're airy, squishy, inexpensive, and the rubber ones can go through the washer when they get dirty. I recently picked up Havaiana and Roxy flips flops at Ross for cheap.

Not natural fibers, but I buy a pair of these soccer slides (yes, these are the men's, I'm not really a pink-piping kind of a lady, and I wear these everywhere humanly possible all summer; if you like pink piping or have small feet these are the women's version) every year the moment they first show up at Target.

I can't help (don't wear slippers) but we REALLY need to see a picture of the dog.

Not sure where you looked for Dearfoams, but they have a much bigger selection on their website than they do in any store I've been to. They have a bunch of basic open-toe slippers.

yes, second the picture of the dog (preferably with a slipper in his/her mouth!). I usually wear the ugliest slippers ever created by man, so i'm not sure you will want to try and locate a pair. but they are quite comfy and are open-toed!

By the way, these are my mom's favorites and have been for years. She demands open-toed slippers, and she wears them constantly around the house until they wear out and I buy her new ones for Christmas. They're a nice price, too.

Response by poster: Thanks everyone. I think I'm going to hold off as apparently I have some fantasy going of slippers that don't exist. I like the Dearfoam ballet type, but they have toes. I like some of the others, but they're too bulky. My feets need all the cosmetic help they can get.
Ruhroh, those slippers are hilarious, though.
I remember years ago seeing these flimsy black slippers in Chinatown in SF, maybe I'll try to figure out a search for those, because they might have both a thin enough upper material (even though they're closed toe) and rubber bottoms so I could still run outside.
I'm hoping for lightweight, breathable, comfy, a little warm. I may be asking too much from the slippie industry.
