Name this Cat

We have a new 11 month old Siamese/Bengal mix, female, who is vocal, curious, vertical (climbs), likes to cuddle and be petted, but doesn't like to be picked up. She came with a name but it's sliding off. See for yourself. Suggestions will be taken under advisement, thank you kindly!

I feel like you want to name her after a famous explorer! Nellie? Amelia? Beatrix and Freya work for this too.

I like Lanky. It's not a common word, so when she hears it, she won't be confused. It can shorten to Lank or Key. It certainly describes her, but I also think it sounds like a good cat name.

So, I skimmed the details and went directly to the pics, and thought, "Oh, hello KEVIN." Which, you know, may not be applicable to this particular cat.

Upon further review, Cyd.

Cynara (pronounced, sigh-nara) cardunculus
The Latin name for cardoons would be an excellent cat name

Sorry, no name suggestion, but pick her up and go to a window, so she can see cool stuff, and then put her down again before she gets antsy. Keep at it.

Response by poster: I think we have a name, and while we didn't pick exactly what anyone suggested, all your thoughts helped us focus in on what needed to be said.

Diva Grigio Anguilla

(Singing Grey Eel)

Really liked the "explorers" angle

Diva started out from Fifth Element, to go with Plava Laguna -- which is Czech for Blue Lagoon. That part didn't fit, but the title + two descriptive names seemed right. So then finding more appropriate descriptors to go with. This part was important because she's very, very vocal.

We liked the gender bent masculine grigio instead of the feminine grigia; she may well be called George or Greg for-short. Her primary colouration is almost totally grey with just a few hints of brown. The spots and strips are dark grey on ticked light grey. This is a cat whose hair will show on everything except maybe houndstooth or heather grey. t-shirts.

Anguilla is the latinate base for the scientific naming of eels, thanks for the suggestions about scientific names, and of course all of your notes about her length (and wigglyness IRL) really do apply. She's a furry little eel.

She's presently sleeping in the window sill and doesn't care about her name at all.

As well as being a term for soprano opera stars, Diva also literally means "goddess" so it's a good fit.
