Englishman-doing-Jamaican-accent-LyricFilter: What is Rednek saying in the first verse of this song?
Here's what I think the lyrics are that I can understand. The ??? will stand for a single syllable that I can't make out. Most of it all I get but there's some bits in the first verse I can't quite make out.
The call me Rednek
And when they call me that
Then I get the bass out
Everybody ??? out (shout out? shock out?)
And wind up to the Rednek song
Inna de dancehall
We gon' spread like like ??? (fat-ya?)
We gon' make ??? ??? ???
When I hear dem holler my name
Back in the day when I said I would grow
There was nobody that wanted to know
So every day I struggle to try
Tell them why
Now every time that I do my thing
Everybody puts their hands up and sing
Rednek is 'bout to explode
Well Lord have mercy, I
This is what I want to hear
I want you to say my name
Everybody in the place
They call me Redneck

Oh, it's "shock out".
Though I'm still not sure why his dad was killed by Ninjas. Bit of a mystery, that.

Best answer: Definitely "shock out" in line four.
"Sweat like fat gyal" in line seven.
And having done that the hard way, the magic of google provides a video with transcribed lyrics, which is probably better than any of us can guess at.

Response by poster: I looked for lyrics for this every so often for a few months now and never came across that video, Forktine. I probably looked right at it and didn't see it. Thanks. Thank you also, anitanita.

FYI, I found that by searching "rednek they call me lyrics"; the link I gave is the first result. These things come and go, so you could search again tomorrow and maybe not find it.

Response by poster: Also, "We gon' sweat like fat gal?" I was happier not knowing.

Look at the bright side: it's better than "spread like fat gyal" which is what I first heard it as.

And when they call me that
Then I get the bass out
Everybody shout out (actually, he could be saying shock, but it makes more sense as shout)
And wind up to the Rednek song
Inna de dancehall
We gon' spread like like fat gal
We gon' make go louder
When I hear dem holler my name
...I am not familiar with Mr. Rednek's music. Going to google now.
