I'll be solo in East Vancouver for a couple of weeks in the end of April. I'll be up for training, so I'll be at a site a few blocks west of Commercial Drive from ~9:30-4:30 each day. Where should I stay? Grocery shop for lunch-making? Eat & drink? Spend my one-at-a-time days off? [more inside]

What neighborhoods in Vancouver, BC are "most like" north Seattle neighborhoods (Ravenna, Queen Anne, Ballard, etc)? Talking about access to amenities, "feel", and cost. The north Seattle neighborhoods I mention have single family homes with small yards and townhomes, often within walking distance to at least a few good restaurants and a grocery store and parks/libraries, but only a 15 minute drive to downtown core where a lot of the offices and theater/museums are located.

Headed to Whistler for three days with wife and 2 kids ( 9 and 10 ) today. Looks like there are a ton of things to do. Anything particular lakes or hikes or activities we shouldn’t miss? Any tips for Whistler newbies? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

My family has booked a flight to Vancouver for August 3rd - 10th. We have never been and are looking for suggestions on where to stay and what to do. My kids are 8 and 10. A friend who lives there said with that time frame, he would spend half the time in the city and half the time in Whistler. Looking for alternative suggestions with specific answers on neighborhoods and lodging options. We are open to hotels or Airbnb. [more inside]

I'm spending next week in Vancouver, including three days off work on my own. Great, but due to a knee injury I can't stand up, walk or cycle for extended periods. Any recommendations for getting around and keeping myself entertained in the city? [more inside]

I'll be meeting a friend from the UK in Vancouver during the last week of December/first week of January. It's their first time to Canada, and I'm not overly familiar with Vancouver. Interests include music, kink, environment, pescatarian diet. They're extroverted and I'm not, so I'd appreciate offerings of unique things to do for NYE. [more inside]

Hi. I'm going to be in Vancouver for a few days next week and would like to find a nice small town to stay for a night in outside of the city. No more than 2 hours drive hopefully. Any recommendations for short hikes or other things we must do would be welcome. Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

My teen daughter and I are doing a quick trip to Vancouver, BC at the end of March as part of spring break. I need advice on where to stay and whether or not we can get around on just public transportation. Difficulty level: She'll get her acceptance or rejection letter to UBC a few days before our trip, so I need to stay somewhere that makes it easy to get to UBC - OR let's us completely avoid campus and just do fun stuff elsewhere. We have a new 2016 Camry (which I think is FWD), and we're driving from Seattle to Vancouver, BC this weekend. Weather Underground is forecasting snow Fri-Mon (0-4 celsius, 33-40 fahrenheit, 1-2 inches/day). Will we need chains? [more inside]

Thanks to overzealous use of Google Flights, I'm going to Vancouver next week. Which is great, but I'll be there over Thanksgiving. Will there be anything to do or anything open over the holiday? I especially need ideas that are inside in case of bad weather. (My current plans are 1. go to Vancouver Island overnight 2. eat ALL the sushi 3. whale watch 4.walk/bike around aimlessly)
