Nice place to stay outside Vancouver ca

Hi. I'm going to be in Vancouver for a few days next week and would like to find a nice small town to stay for a night in outside of the city. No more than 2 hours drive hopefully. Any recommendations for short hikes or other things we must do would be welcome. Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Vancouver, BC: Where to stay, getting around: maybe going to UBC edition

My teen daughter and I are doing a quick trip to Vancouver, BC at the end of March as part of spring break. I need advice on where to stay and whether or not we can get around on just public transportation. Difficulty level: She'll get her acceptance or rejection letter to UBC a few days before our trip, so I need to stay somewhere that makes it easy to get to UBC - OR let's us completely avoid campus and just do fun stuff elsewhere. Snow chains for Vancouver, BC this weekend?

We have a new 2016 Camry (which I think is FWD), and we're driving from Seattle to Vancouver, BC this weekend. Weather Underground is forecasting snow Fri-Mon (0-4 celsius, 33-40 fahrenheit, 1-2 inches/day). Will we need chains? [more inside]

Vancouver over Thanksgiving?

Thanks to overzealous use of Google Flights, I'm going to Vancouver next week. Which is great, but I'll be there over Thanksgiving. Will there be anything to do or anything open over the holiday? I especially need ideas that are inside in case of bad weather. (My current plans are 1. go to Vancouver Island overnight 2. eat ALL the sushi 3. whale watch 4.walk/bike around aimlessly)

What is the most convenient way to get from Vancouver International Airport to downton Seattle with an 8 year old in tow and plenty of luggage? Visiting Seattle this summer but flying into Vancouver because flights are much cheaper. Now, how do I get from the aiport to downton Seattle with minimum hassle, and yet economically? What are my options?

Hotels in Vancouver with good transit access

We're off for a late-booked trip to Vancouver in August and need to find a place to stay. Most hotels are booked in the West End/Downtown/Yaletown area. What hotels would you recommend that are moderately ($100-200) priced with easy transit access to tourist attractions? We'd like to use public transit if possible, but can rent a car if public transit is infeasible. We will have at least one member of our party who can't walk longish distances, and a toddler to deal with as well, so frequent bus changes may be a challenge. We were looking at the Holiday Inn Express Burnaby, is this a sane choice?

Traveling to Vancouver. Pre-paid mobile data plans?

I'll be in Vancouver and the surrounding area next week. What's the best way for me to get data on my cellphone? Something like a prepaid mobile SIM card tied to a data plan. Just relying on wifi isn't an option as half of the time I won't be in the city. [more inside]

Vancouver Bound - Suggestions for Fun Things To Do

I am thinking of taking a Monday - Friday trip to Vancouver at the end of this month. Looking for personal suggestions of good places to stay and fun things to do. (Boat trips, museums, nice restaurants, etc.) My personal trip ritual (if available) is to have a good bookstore near a good coffeehouse as home base.
