When is Microsoft going to put the new processor in the Xbox 360? And does anyone know of any future price-drops for the console?

Earlier this year, there was an announcment that Microsoft was going to move to a 65 nm process for their chips, which would have the effect of being cooler, less noisy and using less power. I would like to wait for one of these "second generation" 360's before I finally break down and buy one. With all the heat-related issues I've heard, I'd like to get something that will hopefully have fewer heat issues. All the reports simply say "early 2007" but don't get any more specific. Does anyone have the inside information? Is it even worth waiting for?

While I'm asking, does anyone know if there are going to be price drops for the 360 in the next couple of months? I would assume Microsoft won't be making any announcments about price drops so soon after everyone payed full price for them at Christmas, but does anyone know something more than idle speculation?

If anyone knew anything, it would be on the news/rumor sites already.
