Where's a good place to play darts in Chicago?
Darts in Chicago bars are not nearly as ubiquitous as when I was living in Wisconsin -- but maybe that's because I'm not looking in the right places. Right now, we're playing at a Polish tap room on the near North side, but my pals are looking for a change of venue. Any suggestions? We'd like to stick around the Roscoe Village, St. Ben's, Albany Park or Lincoln Square neighborhoods.

I think the Celtic Crown in Lincoln Square and Four Treys in Roscoe Village have darts.
Farther away, Butch McGuire's near Rush and Division is always fun, though with lots of trash and tourists, it's quintessentially Rush and Division. Still, could be fun for a bigger night out, and it's close to the Red Line.
My favorite spot near Chicago for darts is Tommy Nevin's in Evanston, which is a bit of a hike from where you're looking, but the food, Guinness, and room to spread out might be worth the occasional jaunt.
I moved to Lincoln Square last year and love it, so if you don't mind more proselytizing:
- the two pool tables at Margie's on Lincoln Avenue are outstandingly low-key if you don't mind some of the locals giving you odd looks when you first come in.
- across the street, the Glunz Bavarian Haus has the best, freshest beer I've had in Chicago. The proprietor knows his stuff and is usually there with a cadre of cute Eastern European staff. The environment is perfect for a few drinks with friends.
- the Horseshoe nearby is solid for BBQ and country/bluegrass bands.
- I think everyone should check out the Gypsy Rhythm Project that plays monthly Katerina's. The room is slightly upscale, but a Manhattan or other cocktail while listening to their virtuoso Cimbalom player has been one of life's lovely little experiences for me.
Have fun!
