affiliate marketing program: white label vs. roll-your-own?

I operate an e-commerce store and (after much delay) I'm interested in setting up an affiliate marketing program that doesn't suck. I don't need a third party to find affiliates for me, I'd like to have something I control myself, and I'd like to forgo unnecessary fees.

Are there white label solutions that you use and recommend? Anyone using a system of their own design and care to share your experience?

Response by poster: myap looks interesting but it looks like you pay a licensee fee plus transactional fees...

I'm in a similar circumstance as you, and am currently leaning towards Post Affiliate Pro. No idea if it is any good or not, but it is pretty cheap, so I figured it couldn't hurt to give it a try. Will be watching this thread closely for better advice though...
