Princess Me Up

I'm trying to find a costume for the tap routine I'll be in for this year's recital. We're all different princess, me being Rapunzel (Tangled).

Need a dress, but not longer than knee length. The studio owner says she has a hair piece, but not 100% sure on it.

Not interested in the $70 Disney costume. Too expensive. Too long. Cheaper is better. I'm willing to go to around $50. Bonus points if I could wear the dress in real life. I don't sew but I can hand tack and glue gun with the best of them. I have a crinoline from last year's number.

I'm a size 14-16/XL give or take. I have a longish torso and short legs. I'm definitely fair skinned.

Hey, fellow tap dancer! You might try searching the phrase “Rapunzel Disneybound” for ideas. Adults aren’t allowed to wear actual Disney costumes to the parks but they can wear regular clothes that capture the essence of the character. Some of these seem to use a shirt/skirt combo rather than a dress—would you be OpenTable going that route instead?

This purple is not quite right, but maybe this or something similar could work as a base?

I’ll keep looking and will post again if I find anything better.

Cosplay dress (just outside your budget at $60)

Cheapie cosplay option

“Rapunzel adult cosplay” seems like another good term to search.
