weird search problems on iOS

I recently got an iPad and an iPhone SE. I'm having weird problems with search on some of the apps. On my iPad, sometimes it won't let me search Netflix - it won't let me type anything in the search box at all.

Today, on my iPhone, Spotify search won’t work. I can type in the box, but it'll tell me nothing was found by that artist, even when I know that artist is on Spotify and I can navigate to their page through other means.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

I can’t speak to other apps, but I often get confused by Spotify’s search function because if you are in your library tab, there’s a search icon at the top to search your library, and another search icon at the bottom to search all of Spotify. I keep accidentally using the top search icon by mistake when I’m trying to find artists.
