Costume idea involving silver velvet cloak

Last minute costume help.... I am attending a party on Saturday that I have just found out is dress-up for Halloween. I love dressing up and I have a silver full length velvet cape made for a previous costume that I would love to reuse but I need ideas on how to use that aren't just generic queen/zombie queen ideas.
I can make it to the shops, I have a sewing machine (though fairly base level skills) and I am willing to put a good few hours in (though I only have a couple of days). I am willing to alter/wreck the cloack and I am in Australia if that matters. I like proper dress-up costumes (as opposed to say witty pun costumes) and obviously nothing racist/sexist/etc. but otherwise I am open to all ideas. Last time you folks helped me with a great Terry Pratchett costume idea!

Liv Tyler had a silver velvety cloak when impersonating Arwen in the LOTR films. You could go as Arwen OR as Tyler playing Arwen.

How about Gandalf from the Lord of the Rings? Add a white beard, hat, belt and staff.

The cape worn by Angelina Jolie in Maleficent was black, but as long as you do the dress, makeup and (most importantly) the headgear I don't think anyone is going to call you out on it.
It'll be distinctive as hell.

I like The White Which idea.
I also thought of a forest elf like Arwen from Lord Of The Rings.

You could go as a Hershey Kiss or something wrapped in tinfoil (in the USA, we typically get burritos or baked potatoes that way). It would be relatively simple to pull off with the silver cloak, wouldn't be the traditional princess/queen, and wouldn't damage the cloak.

Niagara falls! Just wear stone/rock coloured clothes under the cape and attach some stray bits of foliage to a head band. You could even wear a rainbow sash for the full effect.

I came in to say Harry Potter and his invisibly cloak, but athirstforsalt beat me to it.
Alternatively, you could dress up as a roll of tinfoil. Bonus points for including the serrated ripping edge.

Be a gorgeous silvery moth. Make a headband using big feathers for their antennae, or maybe something like carefully cut thick paper. Do your makeup with your natural skin tone but dust lots of silvers and greys on highlight areas like cheekbones, lips, temples, and of course a silver smoky eye. Wear coordinating grey and silver clothes. For the cape, on the underside attach two long strips of darker fabric coming out from about your waist height - these are your extra set of legs, you can make them match your sleeve and trouser color or look more bug-like or go abstract. If you change your mind about ruining the cloak you can keep it more abstract and symbolic, maybe with some circles of darker and lighter fabric basted on top of the cloak for the markings. But if you want to go all in, cut a slit halfway up the center back and shape the edges more like wings. Use fabric paint or diluted dye with a stipling brush to paint on symmetrical spots and patterns. Include some eyespots on the underside of the cloak as well.
When you get to the party find a candle and set up court next to it. Stare at the candle and don't bother to make eye contact with anything else. :)

You'd need more white/silver stuff to wear underneath, a crown, and some white confetti to keep in your sleeves.
