Blues Brothers Hat: the real deal

I'd like to dress up as Elwood but am having trouble finding the actual hat. I find lots of fedoras, but none have the right proportions: smaller brim, wide fabric band, and the short crown. I'm not interested in chintzy costume hats that look like crap.

I don't mind paying $100 or so if it's the the hat. I can visit stores in the San Francisco Bay Area, but online is preferred (I know my hat size). For those who aren't sure what it looks like, the brim, the band, and the crown above the band are all about the same size, maybe 1.75", and the top is triangular.

It's not a fedora - it's a trilby (the smaller brim is the tip-off). You may have better luck with that keyword.

Aaaand this site claims this is the actual hat chosen for the movie. Oh shoot that's for Blue Brothers 2000 actually, but it's similar.

You might call Baron Hats in Los Angeles. They are very likely to have made the hat and they have a movie hat museum and do reproductions and custom work, etc etc.

Best answer: My brother got his Blues Brothers hat from a store in LA called Siegels. They carry a hat named specifically for the movie.

Response by poster: Dang, it is a trilby, thank you, brainmouse. I am not up on my hat styles. The Blues Brothers 2000 version was better than anything I found myself. I think the dents are not quite as low as the original, but it's damn close. However, I went with the Blues Brothers hat from Siegels, which seemed like the closest.
