Small business social networks

Where do small business owners ask for advice online? I know many use Linkedin groups. What are some of the more popular social networks for "mom and pop" business owners to ask for advice and to share? Many thanks, Zach

I use LinkedIn to reach out to procurement people and people who have run their own businesses but now are looking for work through Groups. I find startups.co.uk useful, even though it is UK-centric it has a lot of American users, especially people who run small American businesses which import to the UK/EU, as well quite a lot of people who run restaurants and healthcare small businesses. Eater.com has many business owners on its forums, which is the best part of the site. I found breakfast and networking groups who meet face to face particularly useful when I worked in America, and they tend to have online forums but they are almost always very local. Occasionally and it's worth looking if you're business category has some kind of guru, that person may host a forum for the industry or at least a newsletter which you can use for networking.

MicroMentor.org is a great place to find a specific person who can help you with your issues. It's free and I've met some incredible people on there.
