Can you recommend a dog sitter in Brooklyn?

I know all about DogVacay, but I've had a range of mediocre experiences with people on that site -- and they tend to keep upping their prices. I thought I'd found someone who would be my mainstay, but she just flaked out on me. I'd love to find someone non-flakey, good with dogs, affordable. Can you recommend anyone?

I've had great luck with Rover.com. We've had a consistent and fantastic dog sitter for our dog for years now via that site. Cost is between $20-$30 a day, which seems reasonable to me.

What neighborhood are you in?

Response by poster: I'm in Park Slope. It would be ideal if the person's home was close enough to me -- i.e., a 20 minute walk or less. I have checked out Rover (thanks, bearwife) and the prices seem more reasonable than dogvacay, so that will be my backup if I can't find something else.

I know a FANTASTIC dog sitter/dog walker that I used for 3 years (only reason I stopped is I moved to Oregon) but she lives in Greenpoint. Still happy to pass along her information if you're interested, but I'd want to check with her first.

Seconding Rover.com. I found a great person much more affordable than any of my local kennels.

Not for dogs, but cats, and they do dogs too: Mobile Mutts. I've been using them for about 3 years now and they are WONDERFUL. Not sure how their prices compare as far as dog services go, I know they are one of the more affordable options for cat visits. Even if they are more than other dogsitters in the neighborhood (I'm also in Park Slope), they're worth it--scheduling is easy, they know my cats very well, they keep me informed throughout the time I'm away, and I come home to cats so happy they barely even care that I'm back home.
