I think like half of my AskMe history is identify-this-movie questions.

What movie/TV show am I thinking of? We find out grumpy conservative guy went to Woodstock and hated it.

There's a really conservative, fun-hating old guy character and at some point he breaks down, gets this shell-shocked expression on his face, and we start to get a bit of his origin story. How his older brother dragged him to a music festival in New York when he was a kid, he was there for days, couldn't find any responsible adults, etc. As he's talking it becomes obvious he's talking about being at Woodstock, but he doesn't really recognize that/care, he just remembers how much he hates drugs and hippies.

I honestly couldn't tell you if this is animated or live action and I don't remember anything else aside from this one very tiny scene. I watch so many movies. I want to say this guy has gray hair and he's talking to two late teens/early 20s girls, but I could be wrong about that.

It's on the tip of my tongue. I'm pretty sure it's something I've seen a couple of times. I can't believe I'm spending a question on this but now I'm obsessed with figuring out what show this was. This is so annoying. Damn you, brain!

Best answer: oh! I think it was in an episode of Orange Is The New Black - one of the older male guards describes it but he has no idea that he had been to Woodstock

Any chance this was a scene in the tv show News Radio? That's my best guess... Seems like something Phil Hartman's character would say.

Response by poster: Just went and watched the scene again (from Orange is the New Black S03E05). This is definitely what I was thinking of! Here are the relevant lines in case anyone is interested:
[meets up with Red and Yoga Jones by the greenhouse]

"Don't go getting any funny ideas now, you old burner. I do know what a wacky tobaccy leaf looks like."

[some other, irrelevant lines are said]

"Yeah, I was at a hippie music festival once. Must have been like, uh, ten or so. Mother was away and my older brother was in charge of me. His buddies and I, we hitchhiked there."

"Healy, such a rebel."

"Oh no oh no, I was scared out of my mind. For two days I was living with a golf ball stuck in my throat, choking back the tears. Was absolute chaos. Pouring rain, nobody seemed to care, and people just kept wandering around, and dancing completely naked, filthy with mud, it was like unbelievable."

"Were you at Woodstock?"

"Somewhere upstate. Plus, somebody stole my Johnny Unitas football. I never wanted to be home so badly. You guys understand that, right?"

"Sounds like it was very traumatizing for you."

"My brother, he's an insurance appraiser now. Mostly boats, and other watercraft."

There was also a Simpsons episode where it's revealed that Abe, Homer, and Mona Simpson were at Woodstock, and that Abe hated it (except for Sha Na Na.)
