How to get Google 2-step verification to work in Sony Blu-ray Player?

After turning on Google 2-step verification, I am having trouble signing into YouTube on my Sony Blu-ray player. Any work-around? It seems like the Sony app makes no accommodation for 2-step verification.

Best answer: You can generate application specific passwords for those that don't work with 2-step authentication.

They can be revoked if you ever need to.
