TV optimised web pages.

I'm looking for tv optimised web pages for streaming and similar like the YouTube TV browser or the BBC iPlayer's Big Screen.
I have a Google Sony TV box which is excellent for some things and although it's true there is a YouTube app (I've mainly included this as an example), some services like the iPlayer lack an app but there are tv optimised versions like the one linked. I also have a suspicion that some smart tv apps simply pull down a web page.
Although it's possible to visit websites via the onboard version of chrome, it can be a bit fiddly even with the touchpad on the remote and I was wondering if anyone knew of any other tv optimised versions of websites like the ones linked above.

5by (by StumbleUpon) has both an app and a website to stream video content from multiple sources, organized in various categories.
Japanese national tv NHK makes some pretty great programmes and they have a tablet-friendly live video stream on their site (programmes are in English).
