Last-Minute Gift for my NYC Girlfriend?

Ideas for a gift to buck up my girlfriend who's feeling down that isn't flowers - must be able to deliver in NYC.

My girlfriend is in a funk today and I'd like to send her something to cheer her up. I'm in Ottawa and she's in NYC, so I can't exactly drop it off in person. Normally, I would get some flowers delivered to her apartment, but I'm wondering if there is anything else that might work. Hug-o-grams probably not advised. Thanks!

Gourmet pizza. Cupcakes. A book you know she'll like.

I once messengered my girlfriend some Ritalin. She was touched and delighted.

Could get a bike messenger to deliver a spa pass for tonight.

Adding to pwally:

SpaFinder Gift Certs work like a charm: they are instantly e-mailed to her, fully reputable, multiple $ amounts - and she can use at the many choices of spas in Manhattan as early as tonight.

You could sign her up for Birchbox or something similar (a few ideas here).

Hard to answer definitively without knowing more about your girlfriend, but if I were having a tough day and my boyfriend delivered a spa pass for me to go somewhere and be taken care of in a low-stress environment for a little while, I would be thrilled. So, agreeing with pwally and Kruger5.

I sure love Robicelli's cupcakes and they have a Valentine's Day offer going on.

I sometimes disdain cut flowers because I'd prefer a live houseplant - so if you know she is similar, you could send her a plant.

Dinner. Have a nice dinner and a bottle of wine delivered. If you can time it so she's just had time to get home and think, crap, now I have to figure out what to eat, it's especially great. You might have to text her a head's up, so she doesn't pick up takeout on her way home, though.

Check and see if she has a wishlist on amazon.

You can buy event tickets online and email them to her if she's into concerts / broadway shows. A great concert can shake me out of a funk like nothing else.

To Second COD, I received Edible Arrangements on my birthday last year. I knew it was coming a little in advance and I thought it sounded a bit bleh.

Dude. I nom nom nom the crap out of it. It was my favorite gift that year. :)

Edible Arrangements looks like such crap in the ads, but I third everyone who says it is fresh and yummy in person.

If she's in Manhattan (rather than any of the other boroughs), Zabar's delivers. ZABAR'S.

Edible Arrangements is the gas station roses of internet gifts.

Although the roses probably taste better.

I don't have time to find it right now, but somewhere online there's a company that delivers baskets and has one that's filled with a bunch of old-timey candy and games. Playdoh, Slinky, Mike n Ikes, Magic 8 Ball, etc. I think there's also one that comes in a little red wagon (Radio Flyer.) Also, Snookies Cookies delivers around the country, and they are the BEST.

Manhattan Frutier. Amazing chocolate. Best gift I ever got was surprise green apples and their goat's milk caramel dip waiting for me when I got home from work... all packaged in a cute basket.
