Have you done a prepared-food / delivery diet? Did you like it? Do you know any local (San Francisco) places you would recommend over something national? Thanks!
Response by poster: So I've gone for Diet to Go. (Freshology looks wonderful but is *way * a lot at 30-50 per day. Will update after next week.

Specifically, I liked that you could customize a lot of things with the local delivery. My food was fresh, and I never had a problem with anything being spoiled or off.
The one downside I found is that as a food lover (and decent cook) I found their food a bit bland, and often dressed it up a bit. It was a bit uninspired as well. Also, I felt that the food wasn't as wholesome as I would have liked it to be. However, it was what I needed at the time, but I was happy to move away from the meals and apply the portion control I learned during my time using the service to my real life.
Sure, the national chains might be cheaper, but the food is much, much worse. When I moved to NYC, I was still working on my diet, and I opted to use their national delivery service. I ended up canceling and going with a local service in NYC.
There are lot of local delivery services now in NYC - I imagine San Francisco is the same. I do find that the more hyper-local ones are very expensive, more so than something like Diet-To-Go which seems to be a medium between those and the big chains.
I've heard nice things about Freshology but it is significantly more expensive than Diet-To-Go.
Feel free to memail me if you have specific questions!
