iCal/Google Calendar privacy

Is there a way to sync Google Calendar to my iCal, but make all events appear like iCal private events in Google Calendar? I want to share my Google Calendar so that others will see when I am on a business trip or in a meeting, but they shouldn't see where I am or what the topic of the meeting is.

You can check "Share only my free/busy information (Hide details)" when you share your Google Calendar.

Of course, that will affect all events, not only ones from iCal.

Response by poster: Thanks, that would work. But I'd rather not import the detailed information in Google Calendar at all. Can anyone think of a way to hide this information from Google?

So is iCal your source application? Or gCal? Because you ask "Is there a way to sync Google Calendar to my iCal?", but then "I'd rather not import the detailed information in Google Calendar at all".

Response by poster: Sorry, I mixed that up. iCal is the source.
