Where can I find overalls that are shorts for men?

Where might I find a pair of overall shorts for men like the ones seen in Diane Arbus' Child with Toy Hand Grenade in Central Park photograph?

My 17-year-old nephew, who is in love with the photo, has been looking for a pair, and this would be the perfect birthday gift.

Here's an image of the photo.

I think what you're looking for is lederhosen. More pictures.

These folks can sell you some, or any of these places, or you can purchase a pair that hop around on their own. You can even get a pair that are an mp3 player.

Those shorts aren't lederhosen at all. They're simply shorts with braces attached to keep them up. Quite common for little kids in the 60's, but seldom seen today.

I suspect if you want a pair, you'd have to have them made to order somewhere. Find a local seamstress and talk to her.

Peter is right, those aren't lederhosen. (Which, by definition, are leather, as 'leder' is German for leather).

You could grab any pare of shorts for which you can easily find a fabric match, and just sew up some suspenders to attach. Of course, if you got a machine, you might as well sew the shorts themselves.

Buy a pair of pants that will fit him relatively high on the waist, cut 'em off at the knee, use the cut-off part to make the straps. Effortless fabric match.
