Help Me Identify An Old Etiquette Book

Looking for an etiquette book I read a long time ago.

The book was a collection of letters from an Englishmen to his son. Lots of references to Greek mythology mixed in with rules of decorum and general observations about how to live. That's about all I have unfortunately. I'm fairly sure the author was a noble of some sort.

Probably not it but George Washington's Rules of Civility & Decent Behavior in Company and Conversation is a fun read and contains tips such as "Spit not in the fire" and "Sleep not when others speak."
