The guitar in that track is the opening sample in "Ghostwriter" by RJD2. It sounds like something bossa nova but I don't know who it's by. Maybe searching on RJD2 samples will help you. Maybe the mp3 you posted is a remix of "Ghostwriter." posted by rxrfrx at 9:32 AM on October 28, 2006
Not sure who this exact artist is, but I can certainly suggest more like it. Theivery Corporation is good and leans more towards that 'latin-ish' sound, but they're slightly more uptempo. Lemon Jelly, on the other hand, sounds more like the end of the clip with the cut up guitar sound. Sorry for the MySpace links, I don't know where else to link for their music. Now, back to listening to DnB... posted by pwf at 9:38 AM on October 28, 2006
Dunno who did this one, but you may also like Federico Aubele and maybe even Zero 7.
Indeed, that sure sounds like the opening sample in RJD2's 'Ghostwriter.' The original version appears on Deadringer, and there's a remix on The Horror. The one sample that the sample-spotters at the-breaks.net have identified is from a Wendy (tka Walter) Carlos song, 'Timesteps,' from the Clockwork Orange soundtrack. Amazon's got a sample of it here (they've probably got samples of the RJD2 tracks, too, for that matter).
Also, I think you might like the work of Scott Herren (aka Prefuse 73, Savath and Savales, Piano Overlord, etc.). posted by box at 10:45 AM on October 28, 2006
Everybody should be listening to Thievery Corporation!!!
But other than that try:
(Massive attack's) Daddy G

Bonobo

Gotan Project

In addition to the above, these are artists closer to RJD2's sound:
Danger Mouse (aka Pelican City -- now half of Gnarls Barkley)
