Check out some of the Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan remixes on Pandora. Lots of good stuff in there, though you may need to tune out some of the faster dance-oriented stuff.

There are a few Muzlimgauze albums I would consider down tempo middle eastern. Something like "In Search Of Ahmad Shah Masood".

Soap Kills was a Lebanese Trip-Hop band whose stuff mostly fits in this category:

Soap Kills - Yahoo

Soap Kills - Tango

[They released a few albums worth of more good stuff too]

Response by poster: Wow. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you all, but wow! Such great music. I wanted to take the time to listen to all of it before responding. In any case, you all have led me in some good directions and suggested some excellent music. Thank you!
