Two melodies from the 90s

For many (many) years, there have been two half-forgotten melodies from the 90s (I think) that I have never been able to properly identify. I have sung the snatches that I recall here. Notes on the two below the fold.
(a) the first one ("there you go again, love, there you go, my favourite friend") I think had those lyrics, or something close. I was CERTAIN in was in the Abbey Road Story documentary from 1998, but I found it online, watched it again and it did not have that. I'm wondering if it was a different or abridged version of the documentary, or if the Internet gods are simply gaslighting me. Or, you know, if I'm remembering wrong.
(b) the second one ("why don't you sing what you said...") definitely did not have those lyrics. I'm thinking the melody came from something like Madonna or Michael Jackson, but could be totally off.
Any help will be MUCH appreciated.

I'm not QUITE as certain about this as I was about "Do What You Do" - but might the first song be The Magnetic Fields's Nothing Matters When We're Dancing?

Response by poster: Alack, no, I'm afraid not. Apparently I'm going to have to work this song out in therapy.
[But it definitely totally was in that documentary! THEY deleted it.]
That said, I really liked Do What You Do, so thanks for that.
