Tell me what albums to like™

I'm looking for a monthly album subscription which isn't personal, which sends me the 'best' new albums.

So I'm lazy, and I haven't been keeping up with what's good in music properly for years AND I haven't paid for music in a while.

I'd like a paid album subscription service which sends to me the 'best' albums of the last month. Not something that's 'tailored to my tastes', just 'Here's the music / artists you should be aware of'. Yes, could just buy what's on Pitchforks best new music list, but lazy

Closest I've found is Rough Trade's album club which is great and pretty close, but it's only 1 album - anything that sends 3/4?

Two thing: Yes Spotify Premium exists, but it's discovery side doesn't well work for me because it's a) Songs not albums b) overload of choice. I'd rather be told 'This month, take your time to get to know these 3 artists'. Secondly, totally get that 'best' is a dicey word, 'what music journos / right thinking people would say is worth buying' I guess?

Response by poster: Also, I should say - could be digital, could be postal, either's good with a preference for digital.

I think it's likely Rough Trade would put together a custom subscription for you, you should ask!

I'm a member of Yep Roc's "Completist" service, though that's just "whatever Yep Roc is releasing this month." I tend to like their roster, and I'm happy to support them, so it works for me.

Most of the services I found are one a month, but maybe the vynl subscription? Looks like they do a curated selection of 3 per month. Annoyingly you have to sign up to see pricing, which pretty much guarantees I'm never going to make it through the process.

hm, the Bandcamp website has a pretty decent "new and notable" section. Bandcamp Weekly and Bandcamp Daily have great mixes of interesting things crossing many genres.

Is there a still functioning indie music store nearby? I suspect they'd love to sell you 3-4 records of their choosing every month.
