Missing: cheesy pop song

I'm looking for an extremely cheesy song played on the radio in the United States in the early 1980's.
It was my favorite song as a child, but I haven't heard it since then. I remember the chorus going something like "Once upon a star in your wiiiiiiiilllllldest dreams" (just imagine it sung similar to the chorus in 'Hungry Eyes'). The song was pure treacle, but then again it was a time when I also enjoyed rainbows, Popples and unicorns.
A search has brought up a song by the Bay City Rollers called "Once Upon a Star", but it seems a bit early (about 1975) and I can't find any music clips to rule it out. The one music clip I have found does not load. I've also scoured the top single lists for each year of the early 1980's and haven't found any good leads.
I know the details are sparse, but does anyone remember this song, too? Or would anyone know of a place where I could listen to a sample of the Bay City Rollers' song?

Best answer: I think what you're actually looking for is "Your Wildest Dreams" by the Moody Blues, from their 1986 album, "The Other Side of Dreams." Found it on iTunes, can't find any mp3 links to it, though.

Response by poster: Wow. I can't believe that is by the same bad that did 'Nights in White Satin".

See if you can find an mp3 of "Go Now" (pre-Satin) if you'd like to hear them sound like yet a third totally different band.

Mikepop, that pretty much was an entirely different band. No Justin Hayward; no John Lodge.

Thanks for the bio link. I had come across the 45 of Go Now a while ago and found it hard to believe it was the same band. That would explain it!

Justin was there on Wildest Dreams. He even wrote it. But you're right, their sound was completely watered down by then.

mikepop and I were talking about Go Now, not Wildest Dreams, wryly.

Has anyone seen the Blue Angels promo video with "Wildest Dreams" as the background music? I've been looking for a copy of that for years!
