Perfect Model Mix

I want to make a mix CD for my niece who is an aspiring model. What should be on it?

My 17 yr old niece just got 1st runner up in her first pageant and also recently was in a student movie. She's also done a couple cat walks and things like that.

I want to celebrate her! So I'm making her a CD, as one does. Can you help me pick some awesome songs for it? I'm envisioning this as her model AMP UP CD, that helps get her all fierce and stuff.

Here's what we've picked so far:

1. Christina Aguilera -- Vanity
2. The Weather Girls -- It's Raining Men
3. RuPaul -- Jealous of My Boogie
4. Right Said Fred -- I'm Too Sexy
5. Christina -- GLAM

Likes include: Britney Spears, disco-y stuff, big production anthemic power songs. Dislikes: Rihanna, "Who Runs the World? Girls!", and slow/sad music.

For some reason I keep thinking of this as the model version of Barney's mix from How I Met Your Mother -- it should be a "getting glammed up" power CD with no ebbs, just ups.

I immediately thought of Madonna's Vogue, along with all ballroom house remixes of it (like MikeQ's). Maybe even ballroom house in general -- MikeQ off the top of my head (here, here) -- what with the very appropriate high catwalk energy.

At the risk of saying something obvious, 'Supermodel' is another RuPaul possibility.

"Perfect Day" by Hoku. It's on the Legally Blonde soundtrack.

Kraftwerk's The Model might be too slow for her, but seems obvious given the theme. I've also heard some interesting mashups of it that might be better if she's looking for something peppier.

"Supermodel" from the Clueless soundtrack is awesome!

It seems to me like there might be room for a Prince song on there, but I can't say which one would fit best.

The theme from FTV's old show Model Flat is pretty apt.

Tyra Banks' Shake Ya Body is not a complete disaster.

More RuPaul: Covergirl.

Edit: Ooh, and I just suggested this for a workout list but maybe for this one as well: Beyonce's Run the World (Girls)... so much badass girlpower.

Chicks On Speed -- Fashion Rules (that sad concert clip is the only version I could get to work on YouTube, but I'm sure the original is easily downloaded.)

Actually, most things by Chicks On Speed would probably appeal. They're a sort of techno/electroclash group of art school girls who sing a lot about art/style/glamour/club-kid culture/etc. A friend of mine worked with them for a while, and I seem to remember there being some kind of fashion component to their performances. Maybe they design those crazy costumes they're wearing in the above clip?

I'm going to say "Kiss".

"Raspberry Beret" wouldn't be out of place, either.

Not explicitly fashion/model/hotness related, but no disco-ey teen girl friendly Getting Fierce mix should be without Le Tigre's cover if I'm So Excited.

Why, Lady Gaga's "Fashion" of course!

"Stilyagi" by Puro Instinct comes to mind, but it might be a little downtempo.

Justin Timberlake's "Suit and Tie?'

Katy Perry's "Firework?"

The Strokes' "Modern Girls & Old Fashioned Men?"

Kreayshawn's "Gucci Gucci?"

Gwen Stefani's "Harajuku Girls?"

Christina Aguilera's "Glam?"

if she's not afraid of great tunes not released in her lifetime, how about Sheila E's "Glamorous Life" or "Work That Skirt" by the B-52's?
