Help me identify this song Google has never heard of!

I've had the chorus of this song semi-stuck in my head for years and when I finally thought to Google it yesterday, I came up with nothing. Well, almost nothing. So I'm counting on somebody here to finally help me identify the mysterious "ooh girl, lost in time" song.

When I Googled the part of the lyrics I can remember, I came up with this Yahoo Answers question from four years ago, which includes what appear to be the complete lyrics, and...that's it. The question went unanswered, and I tried searching for different portions of the lyrics and didn't find anything.

Clues: I think this was a song-within-a-TV-show, like maybe something from a fictional band. I only remember hearing the lines "put your head next to mine, ooh girl, lost in time," not the entire song as quoted in the link. It sounded like a kind of cheesy rock ballad (think Mr. Big, Extreme), performed by a male singer with minimal accompaniment (maybe just an acoustic guitar) and I want to place it in the mid to late 90's.

Thanks in advance, Metafilter. I know you won't let me down.

"Forever Baby" from Victorious has some of those lyrics and meets your "song-within-a-show" requirement. It's only a couple of years old, though.

Response by poster: Thanks for taking a swing at it, but that's not the song.
