Firefox address bar showing wrong address

Why does my address bar show the wrong address when I change tabs?

When I open a new tab, then switch back, sometimes the address stays as the previous visited tab address. Is this a known bug? Does anyone else have this?

Which version of Fx are you running? Any extensions installed?

Almost certainly an extension. Try temporarily running with extensions disabled, or create a new blank profile. If that fixes it, then you've got several options. You can try to bisect the problem by disabling half of your extensions until you find the one that's causing it. You can try starting over in a new profile and reinstalling each extension -- sometimes profiles accumulate cruft for whatever reason.

Fwiw, how to work with profiles.

This process is clearly harder than it should be, at the moment! In the alpha version, this is being worked on.

(Side note: I am now annoyed that this is so hard, and will nag people about it on Monday.)

Response by poster: To answer Foci for Analysis' question, I am runnning the latest version, whenever the update manager detects an update I install it. Lots of extensions, the last thing I installed was Stylish, found via the MeTa about the Front Page.

Will have a look at gregglinds How to work with profiles link.

Thanks for the advice.
