Can you recommend an adult ADD doc in DC?

ADD/ADHD adult treatment recommendation in Washington DC. Details inside.

I previously had treatment for my adult ADD - both with meds and with CBT. I lapsed with the meds for a few years due to childbirth/breastfeeding but need to get back on track. (And I'm not 100% sure that the meds were really working for me anyway...)

- I need a doc that takes BCBS. I do not have the money to see someone outside of network. (My search of the BCBS provider directory has been futile.) THIS IS A MUST.
- I don't have a PCP and it appears to be next to impossible to get one, so I can't get a referral, but I don't need one anyway within my plan.
- Someone that can see me soon would be great.
- Accessible on orange/blue would be nice or walkable from George Washington's campus.

I don't know what kind of doc I want or need, but I'd imagine someone that can prescribe or refer to prescribe would be a good start. I don't know if I want/need talk therapy but I wouldn't be opposed to it.

I don't think you need to see a specialist, at least not at first. Have you asked your GP about it?

If you wanted to see a psychiatrist, this was my ADD guy when I was a kid in the 80s. He is in the BCBS directory. He's right near the Huntington Metro station.
