Trouble returning to Safari after YouTube is opened

How do I get my iPad to return from a YouTube video to Safari?
Whenever I view a video link in Metafilter the only way I have been able to return to Safari is to close the YouTube browser and return to the iPad home screen and reopen Safari.
Is this an issue with the iPad or is there a simpler way to toggle back to Metafilter home page after viewing a YouTube video?

Response by poster: Is there a Cydia app that helps?

Backgrounder can do this if you're going to jailbreak and install Cydia.

Response by poster: I'm using Multiflow from Cydia as my multitasking app, and the odd thing is when I swipe to view all open programs Safari does not show. Not sure if Backgrounder will work differently. May give that a try.

Once 4.2 comes out you'll double tap the home button to see your open apps and easily go back o your browser. It drops in November.
