A child's thoughts on the death of his dog.

QuoteFilter: Looking for a quote about the death of a dog from the perspective of a small child I read a few months ago on these here interwebs, but I can't for the life of me remember where, and my google-fu is failing.

The quote was at the end of a passage written by an adult, possibly the Vet, describing how he was putting down the family pet. The child made a keen and poignant observation about the death of the beloved animal, but I can't remember what it was.

Hope me, metafilter!
