hdd not seen

I have an external hdd dock by rosewill that I got from Newegg, that connects via usb. When it is plugged with a hd in, the drive spins up and all lights come on but no drive is displayed anywhere. I do get an usb to Serial ATA bridge icon in my devices and printers folder. Any ideas for a fix before I RMA it?

Best answer: Follow the directions here on windows 7 disk manager. That's specifically for resizing, but the tool that they show you how to use, Disk Manager, should list the drive in the dock.

If it doesn't list it, then the dock is probably bad -- or perhaps there's more help on the manufacturer's website.

Good luck!

Or the hard drive could be bad... Have you tried another one of those?
