What is that groovy bass line on those Cablevision commercials? There are a series of recent Cablevision commercials with a dark haired dude talking in front of a white background - these all end with a really groovy bass line. Is that from a real song, or is it just something they just recorded for the commercial?

I know a lot of their commercials lately have featured this guy...I think his name is Don Omar. Is he the one in the ads you're thinking of?

Oh and I should warn you...that link is an absolutely irresistible earworm. Do not click it if you're going to be pissed that you're singing a commercial.

Response by poster: Nope, it's the commercials with the dark-haired guy in a jacket standing in front of a completely white background.

you'll probably find you get more answers to this kind of question if you include a link to the commercial, or a recording, or something.

i don't remember what tv service it was for, it might have been comcast, or directv, i didn't really pay attention.. but one of them was using goldfrapp's ooh la la in their commercials a while back. that's got a pretty groovy bassline.

It's this guy, no? (Sorry for the overtly negative link.) I'd bet that bass thing was composed/performed just for the commercials. Cablevision/Optimum also had that insidious "TAX TAX TAX, CALL CALL CALL" song/commercial when Verizon started dropping all that FiOS cable. I sang that thing for months...

yeah, that's the guy.

I thought it might be part of another song because one of the commercials has an extended part of the song with an drum accompaniment. (I play bass, that's why I notice these things.)
