Toddler of Doom: Destroy! Destroy!

I have a cordless mouse for use with my laptop. Last week my toddler yanked the mini-receiver out of the USB port and managed to completely destroy it in a matter of seconds. Is it possible to replace just this receiver, or do I need to toss the whole thing out and spend another $25.00 on a cordless mouse? (Its a logtech mouse.)

Logitech support page has nothing I can find but they suggest you can call their sales dept to get replacement mouse feet (of all things) - my guess is that if you call their sales # they will be able to get you a replacement receiver for a nominal charge.

I once got a replacement handlebar mount for a 10 year-old catseye cycle computer that had been discontinued. The OEM will very likely have replacement parts.

Second calling Logitech support. I haven't dealt with Logitech specifically, but normally for any consumer electornics device you just call them and they either send you the parts for free (if it's not worth much) or sell them to you for a reasonable fee.

I lost my Logitech WheelMan's ball a few months ago and they sent me one for $2.50 plus a few bucks shipping. +1 for giving them a call.

Some Logitech mice are universal receivers (most should be these days, actually) - These, you can call sales and purchase replacements for.

Some are keyed in some way to the original mouse, and they can't sell you just the receiver. However, I recall Logitech having some form of out of warranty service that provides discounted replacements.

Tell them it's the best mouse (or whatever) you ever had & you will be surprised what they might do. We got a free out of warranted repair from Canon a while back.
