Facebook group name change

Two questions re Facebook group -- can you change a group name? And also ...

Is there any way to change the name of a group? I have emailed (I think, the page I found was sort of confusing) the FB help people but no answer yet it's been a few days.

I could delete the group and start over with a new name, I know how to do that, but another issue is that someone else wants to use the old name. If I delete a group, is it like AOL in which the deleted name is deemed "in use" for years later?

I'm the administrator of several groups, and it does not appear to be possible to change a group name once you've created it. I think that makes sense- people shouldn't have to worry about joining the "I Love Kittens" group and wake up one day to find it they're a member of the "I LOVE HARDCORE PORN XXX" group.

1) You can't change the name of a group after it's been created.

2) There can be multiple groups with the same name, so the other person can create their own group if they want.

No it's not possible - that's why one of the groups I'm in has an egregious misspelling.

I successfully got Facebook to change an event name once, because I had written "March" instead of "May" as the date of the event the group commemorated. I wrote to them, and it took about a week for them to make the change. If it's something minor such as that, and it doesn't change the substantive meaning of the group title, you may be in luck. But if it's a major change, don't bet on it.

You can create a new group with the same name as a deleted group. I have done that too.

I spend too much time on Facebook.
