How can I get to New Brunswick, NJ from JFK in 7 hours, reverse in 5?

Juggling options: how do I get to New Brunswick, NJ for a conference that runs from 1 PM on Sunday, April 27 through 2 PM on Friday, May 2nd? Based on flight availabilities and transit timing, is JFK or EWR a better option? Details on flight times inside. [more inside]

Will the PATH (NJ->Manhattan) shut down if there's too much snow?

One of my coworkers said that the PATH will shut down if the snow accumulates past the height of the 3rd rail. But the line is underground (except outside where there are wires above head-height handling the charge) - could that actually happen. Has the PATH ever been shut down due to snow accumulation before?

Atlantic City for Kids?

Is Atlantic City fun for non-gamblers the way Vegas is? I was thinking of taking my 12 year old daughter there on a day trip (it's about a two-hour drive one way). She'd love all the shopping and fantasy buildings of Vegas, but my impression of Atlantic City is that's it's less about fun and more about the single-minded pursuit of gambling. Opinions, anyone? If there are decent beaches nearby, that could make it more worthwhile too.

Windy City Entertainment?

My sister is traveling to New Jersey in a week or so. She has this question: Myself and two others traveling by bus later this month and we have an 11 hour layover in Chicago, starting at about 5 in the morning on Tuesday. So I was wondering if there is anything really interesting to do while in Chicago for that time that is very inexpensive (Perhaps less than $5.) or free. (Free is always good. :) ) [more inside]

Is Jersey City to Somerset a reasonable commute?

Want to know about how long (and how bearable) it would be commuting from Jersey City, NJ to Somerset, NJ 5 days a week for work. Has anyone done it? Any thoughts on how 'sustainable' a commute it is? I am mostly concerned with the day-after-day effects of driving this distance. My commute now is via subway and is about 30 minutes each way, including walking.

Edison Metropark... Easy and safe to park?

I have to travel from/to the Metropark station on a weekday. I'll be taking the first train out in the morning, late arrival in the evening. I'd prefer not to bill client for car service but do not have other rides available at these fringe hours, which leaves only the parking lot option. Will I find a spot at 5:00AM? Will it be safe to walk back to my car at 10:00PM?
